School Events 2017
Take a look at some of the great things we have been doing at school...
Robinwood - July 2017
The Year 6 children visited Robinwood Activity Centre in Todmorden. The children had an amazing time doing team building and outdoor activities. They all really enjoyed it and could not wait to tell everyone all about it on Monday. Both our staff and Robinwood staff were very impressed with the children and as always they were a credit to St Agnes. Well done.
Primary Engineering Competition - July 2017
Congratulations to Leo Williams and Bethany Jones who won the School Primary Engineering Project. On Tuesday they took their invention to Oldham Sixth Form College to compete against 10 other Oldham schools. They were very successful and won the ‘Best Themed’ vehicle. They will now be going to the Regional Finals next week in Burnley to compete against other North West schools.
This is a fantastic achievement and we are extremely proud of these children.
World Book Day - Wednesday 1st March 2017
On Wednesday staff and children took part in World Book Day. We had a fantastic day celebrating the work of Julia Donaldson and David Walliams. The children all took part in a range of reading activities to encourage them to read more often and enjoy books. We hope this will continue at home and that your children are given the opportunity to read daily to develop a love of books. Each child brought home a World Book Day Book Token on Wednesday, for them to use when purchasing a new book.
Shrove Tuesday (Pancake Day) 28th February 2017
We had great fun making, cooking and eating pancakes! The children all enjoyed working with George from Discovery Kitchen to make and try their own pancakes. The children got to try unusual ingredients in their pancakes such as mango, cherries and greek yoghurt. Thank you to STARS who helped to fund this experience.
Safer Internet Day Thursday 9th February
On Thursday 9th February we had a ‘safer internet day’. A drama group came into school to deliver a workshop to each of the classes, on this subject. Everyday we continually promote correct and safe use of the internet and social media to the children. We hope you will support us in this at home. A useful website for help with this is:
School Council Assembly Friday 27th January 2017
Mrs Swift and Mrs Cooper-Wilson accompanied the School Council to St Hugh’s School. The children conducted an assembly about friendship and how to be a good friend.
We are very proud of all the School Council children who are showing dedication and hard work in their role and really enjoy being part of a team.
