Welcome to Class 4
2018-19
Our class teacher is Mrs S Barratt and we also have a teaching assistant; Mrs Gibson who supports us with our learning. Each morning, we are joined by an additional member of staff to give us all extra support in Maths and Literacy lessons, either Ms Ritchie or Mrs Cooper-Wilson.
There are 30 children in the class: 15 children in Year 5 and 15 in Year 6.
Our Classroom
In our classroom we are encouraged to explore our environment and use the resources in the classroom to help us with our learning. We each have our own space at a table which has a tray for all our resources. This encourages us to become more responsible and independent learners in preparation for secondary school.
Our Day
In the morning we do Guided Reading/Spelling/Handwriting, followed by Maths and Literacy. In the afternoons we have Topic time which includes subjects such as Science, R.E, P.E, Art, D.T, French, Computing, Geography and History. In our class we do lots of different learning. We do small focussed group learning, independent learning, and learning all together. This helps us to do our best and enjoy being in our class.
