Our class teacher is Mrs Crickett
Our teaching assistants are Mrs Z Gibson and Mrs K Cooper-Wilson who support us with our learning.
There are 31 children in the class: 16 children in year 1 and 15 in Year 2.
In our classroom we have lots of different areas to help us discover things for ourselves.
We have a sand or water area, a painting facility, a role play area and 2 touch screen computers for the children to use independently. Children develop learning through many hands on activities, this also includes using construction such as Lego. Learning is also reinforced through outdoor provision. Children go into the playground area to investigate or problem solve using large equipment.
Barnaby Bear is the class mascot and he is taken home each week by a lucky member of the class. They record their activities with him in his scrap book which is then shared with the rest of the class.
In the morning we do handwriting, literacy and phonics. Numeracy and Topic time takes place in the afternoons. Topic time includes subjects such as Science, P.E, Art, ICT, Geography and History. On Tuesday mornings we also learn RE.
In our class we do lots of different learning. We do small focussed group learning, independent learning, and learning all together. This helps us to do our best and enjoy being in our class.
Things to Remember
Monday – School planners and PE kits in school for the week.
PE Days - Monday and Friday. In addition. the children will have daily lessons in the outdoor environment with a focus on each area of the curriculum. They will take part in two PE lessons each week. One lesson with a focus on team games, developing simple tactics for attacking and defending and the other lesson with a focus on simple dancing patterns.
Every day children may be expected to read and so school reading books should be in red bags.
