2020-21
Our class teacher is Mrs Crickett and we also have teaching assistants; Mrs Gibson and Mrs Cooper-Wilson who support us with our learning.
There are 30 children in the class: 15 children in year 2 and 15 in Year 1.
Our Classroom
In our classroom we have lots of different areas to help us discover things for ourselves.
We have a sand or water area, a painting facility, a role play area and 2 touch screen computers for the children to use independently. Children develop learning through many hands on activities, this also includes using construction such as Lego. Learning is also reinforced through outdoor provision. Children go into the playground area to investigate or problem solve using large equipment.
Barnaby Bear is the class mascot and he is taken home each week by a lucky member of the class. They record their activities with him in his scrap book which is then shared with the rest of the class.
Our Day
In the morning we do handwriting, literacy and phonics. Numeracy and Topic time takes place in the afternoons. Topic time includes subjects such as Science, P.E, Art, ICT, Geography and History. On Tuesday mornings we also learn RE.
In our class we do lots of different learning. We do small focussed group learning, independent learning, and learning all together. This helps us to do our best and enjoy being in our class.
