Our Teacher: Mrs Crickett
Learning Assistants: Mrs Cooper-Wilson and Mrs Hammond
In our class there are 13 Year 1 children and 17 Year 2 children.
In our classroom we have lots of different areas to help us discover things for ourselves. We have a sand or water area, a painting facility, a role play area, playdoh area and a reading zone. We also have two touch screen computers for the children to use independently. Children develop learning through many hands on activities, this also includes using construction such as Lego. Learning is also reinforced through outdoor provision. Children go in to the playground area to investigate or problem solve using large equipment. They also use the garden to explore and problem solve. Barnaby Bear is the class mascot and he is taken home each week by a lucky member of the class. They record their activities with him in his scrap book which is then shared with the rest of the class.
In the morning we do Phonics, followed by Topic time with a Literacy focus and Numeracy. In the afternoons we have Topic time which includes subjects such as Science, R.E, P.E, Art, I.C.T., Geography and History. In our class we do lots of different learning. We have small focused group learning, independent learning, and learning all together as a whole class. This helps us to do our best and enjoy being in our class.
