Head's Welcome 2018-19

On behalf of the Pupils, Staff and Governors I would like to welcome you St Agnes Primary School.

I am extremely honoured to be the new Head of School at St Agnes, because I am fortunate enough to come to work each day with fantastically talented children, hardworking staff with supportive governors and parents.

This academic year we welcome Mrs Ireland as our new Executive Headteacher, she will be working with myself and the staff to make our already good school even better.

St Agnes School is a small, friendly school, with 105 pupils organised into 4 classes. The dedicated team of staff all seek to provide a happy, enriched environment for all children and adults in which each person is valued. We strive to provide an atmosphere of respect and consideration to enable children to achieve their potential, intellectually, spiritually, physically and within positive relationships with each other. Our 'Great Expectations' are the basis for how we all work and learn together, in a harmonious environment. Our Christian perspective shapes our ethos through the life of the school and the curriculum, whilst at the same time encouraging freedom of speech and sensitivity to others.

An integral part of our school ethos is our relationship with parents. We work closely together to ensure that any concerns are taken seriously and dealt with swiftly.  We operate an open door policy and parents are encouraged to raise any concerns or worries at a mutual convenient time.

You will find lots of useful information about the school on this website which we hope will give you a feel of our fabulous school.

It is the new academic year of 2018-2019!  We are really pleased to welcome all our children back to school and our new Reception children who are starting their educational journey.

Our school will continue to work in collaboration with eight other Lees and Saddleworth Schools as we form the Dovestone Learning Partnership –we work closely together re the curriculum and assessment and sport.

Our school is an integral part of the local Community and Parish and we seek to work in partnership with them. We do this by taking part in events at the Lees Library, Ashbourne House, and Parish events.

Here’s to a happy and successful year for all our children.
