Welcome

Head's Welcome 2022-23

On behalf of the Pupils, Staff and Governors I would like to welcome you to St Agnes Primary School.

I am extremely honoured to be the Headteacher at St Agnes, because I am fortunate enough to come to work each day with fantastically talented children, hardworking staff and supportive governors and parents.

It is the new academic year of 2022-2023!  We are really pleased to welcome all our children back to school and our new Reception children who are starting their educational journey.

Last academic year was tough for everyone, but here at St Agnes the staff and families worked together to ensure the safety of all the children throughout this period. We have thorough plans in place to maintain safety for the return of all our pupils and will continue to follow Government guidance, whilst teaching the children in a happy and safe environment. We are fully aware that lots of children have progress to make and all the staff will work extremely hard to ensure every child has personalised learning to help them succeed.

St Agnes School is a small, friendly school, with 107 pupils organised into 4 classes. The dedicated team of staff all seek to provide a happy, enriched environment for all children and adults in which each person is valued.

We strive to provide an atmosphere of kindness and respect which enables children to achieve their potential, intellectually, spiritually and physically whilst building positive relationships with each other.  Our 'Great Expectations' are the basis for how we all work and learn together, in a harmonious environment. The Christian values shape our ethos throughout school whilst at the same time encouraging freedom of speech and sensitivity to others.

An integral part of our school ethos is our relationship with parents. We work closely together to ensure that any concerns are taken seriously and dealt with swiftly.  We operate an open door policy and parents are encouraged to raise any concerns or worries at a mutually convenient time.

You will find lots of useful information about the school on this website which we hope will give you a feel of our fabulous school.

Our school will continue to work in collaboration with eight other Lees and Saddleworth Schools as we form the Dovestone Learning Partnership – we work closely together to develop a culture of collaboration our moto is to ‘Be Stronger Together For All Pupils.’

Our school is an integral part of the local Community and Parish and we seek to work in partnership with them. We do this by taking part in events with the Parish, Lees Library, and Ashbourne House.

Here’s to a happy and successful year for all our children.
