On behalf of all the people associated with St Agnes C of E VA Primary School thank you for visiting our website.
St Agnes School is a small, friendly school, with 105 pupils organised into 4 classes. The dedicated team of staff all seek to provide a secure and welcoming community for children and adults in which each person is valued. We strive to provide an atmosphere of respect and consideration to enable children to achieve their potential, intellectually, spiritually, physically and within positive relationships with each other. Our 'Great Expectations' are the basis for how we all work and learning together, in a harmonious environment. Our Christian perspective shapes our ethos through the life of the school and the curriculum, whilst at the same time encouraging freedom of speech and sensitivity to others.
The well qualified and experienced staff, provide the best education possible and aim to develop pupils to become self motivated and imaginative with lively enquiring minds. The exciting and stimulating activities provided are the basis for the education, which is broad, balanced, relevant, differentiated for individual needs and addresses all learning styles. Our school is a place for doing, experiencing and taking part, and we do this by having themed weeks and days – eg. French Day, Inter House Sports Tournaments, Science Week, by performing in class Assemblies, both in school and at neigbouring schools, plays and musicals, our most recent one - Annie, by inviting visitors into school – eg. a local poet, Firefighters, Sports people, theatre groups and by going on trips – eg. Home Safety Exhibition, Stockport Air Raid Shelters, Chatsworth House and Cannon Hall Farm.
Our school is an integral part of the local Community and Parish and we seek to work in partnership with them. We do this by taking part in events at the Lees Library, Ashbourne House, Parish events and through our work in the local Collaborative Group.
We hope you find our website informative and enjoyable and it has given you a taster of life at St Agnes School.
